Getting enough fruit and vegetables in your diet is one of the best things you can do for your health and your waistline. Recommendations stand at two servings of fruit and five servings of vegetables per day. That might sound like a lot but when you consider an apple to be one serving, a serving of vegetables is only 75g or 1/2 cup cooked vegetables.
Recently, I’ve been trying to increase the amount of fruit and vegetables I eat for a number of reasons – good health, healthy skin and hair, and a trimmer waistline. Here are some of the meals I’ve been indulging in…
Nando’s Hot Chicken Pita after a tough morning training session.
Naughty treats on Saturday night – the dip is from sweet potato and red wine’s good for the heart.
Sunday morning breakfast – scrambled eggs with veggies and softly boiled asparagus.
Spicy thai beef noodle with chilli and some veggies at lunch.
Packed lunch for work – papaya and strawberries to snack on – yummy!
Love the ‘red wine is good for the heart’ line, so true, thank you science
It’s made from fruit too which makes it even better 🙂
