Change. We’re not all open to it yet change is inevitable.
We change as we grow. We change to accommodate our lifestyle choices, job transfers, house moves, getting married, having babies, transitioning to retirement. We have to adapt to the external changes around us too – infrastructure, budget cuts, break ups, illnesses, and much more.
Change is good. Change is getting out of a rut and trying something new. Remaining stagnant is dangerous for both the body and the mind.
My life has changed. Dramatically. By choice. My little bundle of joy was born three weeks before his due date. I expected him early just not that early and under different circumstances. One thing I wanted was a natural birth with no surgery and no drugs. Unfortunately, nature had other plans and I had little choice but to undergo an emergency c-section.
At first, I was angry lying on the operating table waiting for the anesthesiologist to do his job. But then our little guy came out screaming and healthy and it didn’t matter how he entered our lives. The most important thing was his health and wellbeing.
Running Candid is going to change shape. It’s no longer just about training and racing. I want to mould it into something else. I could start from scratch but then this place would seem like a waste. Instead, I’m going to focus on health and fitness as well as parenting, travel and writing. It’s time I started following my dreams.
A new journey has begun, and there’s going to be a ton of running around. I hope you’ll stick around.
