I had an awesome training session today and I’m really excited. While it wasn’t the longest one I’ve ever had, it has left me breathless, exhausted and than completely energized to carry on with my day.
I was fortunate enough to finish my teaching work for the day by 10am today and so I headed for the gym to fit in a treadmill workout. I started off with a 5km easy run progressing to tempo speed of about 12km/hr.
Afterwards I walked for 300m before starting my intervals.
4 x 400m at 14k/hr with 400m resting jogs at 10.5k/hr. This felt a thousand times better than last week and I am glad I got it done. For a moment in the middle I thought my legs wouldn’t carry me further but I managed to talk them into finishing.
The rest of the session was an easy 10 minute cool down at a speed of 11-12k/hr.
