Thanksgiving Day in America today. I’m not American but I like the idea of Thanksgiving – it’s such a positive holiday. Saying thanks and being grateful for all the wonderful things we are blessed with is not common, nor is it something most of us are aware of. Gratitude is one of those emotions that doesn’t get enough attention yet it’s one that could make us appreciate the people, things and experiences our life gives us on a daily basis.
I am grateful for:
My health
My wonderful partner
My beautiful family and friends
The ability to run and enjoy it
My love of writing
Having the means to travel
A job I enjoy and the freedom to change
The roof over my head
The delicious food that I can buy and cook
The freedom to choose
My ‘can do’ attitude
Growing up in Australia
There’s a really nice poem on ‘Get Rich Slowly’ about being thankful that’s worth a read.
Health is definitely the number one thing – it’s terrible wanting to do things and being constrained!
Exactly, and it’s unfortunate that not enough people invest in their health.
