Easter’s great. Lots of yummy food. Getting together with the family. Lots of nice food. Chocolate. I’m shocking when it comes to eating during the holiday season. Usually, I end up eating more than my other half and that’s a lot. During the festive season my stomach feels like a bottomless pit while I’m at the dining table, the problem arises when I try to get up and move. That’s when the lethargy kicks in and all I want to do is lie down with my feet up.
I didn’t do that today.
Instead of putting my feet up and being lazy, Jarek and I drove down to the beach and went for a long run along the shore. It was a perfect way to spend Easter Sunday afternoon. What was the most surprising thing is the run felt effortless. We ended up running for over an hour and I felt like I could have easily kept going for another hour. All that energy must have come from all the food I had eaten in the morning.
Here are some of our Easter treats this year:

Between the steak and the Lindt, I’m surprised you’re not still running;)
They definitely gave me energy, at least on Sunday. Then it all plummeted. Easter is a dangerous time when it comes to food.
