Food. Glorious food. I was going to make healthy pancakes this year but with limited time, feeling off colour, and well having guests who don’t necessarily appreciate the ‘healthy’ alternatives to the traditional, I figured I’d go with what they like best. Crepes. Simple and effective with a serving of plum jam, maple syrup, nutella and cream. Can’t go wrong with that.
My home made crepes
500 g Flour
1 cup Water
2 cups Milk
2 Eggs
1tbsp oil
Combine well into smooth watery mixture, add more milk if the mixture is too thick. You want it runny. Fry until golden and serve with your favourite topping – jam, nutella, peanut butter, maple syrup or whatever tickles you fancy. The quantities vary depending on how many crepes you’re hoping to make.
I should call this place, eating candid as all I seem to be doing is thinking and writing about food. It would be nice to enjoy it more though and to experiment. I have high hopes of having time to do all this weird and wonderful stuff whilst on maternity leave but we’ll see how that all pans out.
Happy Pancake (Shrove) Tuesday!
