So to rev up the motivation around here I signed up for an Endomondo challenge for the month of June. The challenge is ‘the most calories in any sport’. With just over 1000 calories burnt in the past two days, I’m in spot 111. It’s going to be tough to get quadruple digits around here. I’m not sure how some people managed to burn 4000 calories in two days. Did they just complete a marathon or Ironman?
My aim is to burn 500+ calories per day on average so that by June 30 I’ve burnt 15,000 calories. Achievable but gets me back to training on a regular basis.
Now if only I could stop eating chocolate. Since it was International Children’s Day, and even though I’m 30 and my brother is 27, the parents can’t help themselves. It’s sweets every year on June 1 for us. Sweet, but definitely not favourable for calorie burning or trying to resist sugar.
Today’s run was awesome. I aimed for 60 minutes no excuses. With an easy ten minute warm up at a pace of 10km/hr followed by an increase of 0.1km/hr every two minutes until I reached 12km/hr and then back down until I reached 60 minutes. Felt great. I’ve missed that exhausted yet energised feeling I get after a decent run. My aim as of this week is to make Sunday an awesome training day.
