With only eight weeks till the next triathlon, I need to get it together when it comes to training. No more days off because I don’t feel like cycling, or opting for the run instead of the swim session. After Sunday, here are the things I know that need to happen:
SWIM
– more open water swims even if only for 10-15 minutes at a time
– longer training in the pool; minimum 2km per session
BIKE
– increase time spent on bike
– adjust seat (my position on the bike is slowing me down)
– get a hang of the gears, seriously my inadequacy in this area is no longer a laughing matter
RUN
– increase km ran per week but limit to 3-4 sessions
– practice brick sessions with a cycle followed immediately by a run
TRANSITION
– get shoelaces I don’t have to tie up
– forget about wearing socks
GENERAL
– lose 3kg from the scale
– reduce body fat levels to under 20%
– eat more fruit and vegetables (this has improved over recent months)
Do you have any advice for racing well?
I love that you have all of these hardcore aims and then “shoelaces I don’t have to tie up” So practical! good luck:)
Sometimes I think that’s harder than the others – I keep forgetting to buy these little things that will help when racing even if it’s only by seconds.
