Yoga with Lulu Lemon
Recently, I was introduced to the brand of Lulu Lemon. Now, I’m a Lorna Jane fan, at least I have been for years. Recently, I’m not satisfied. Her clothing used to be top notch. It was quality, it lasted the test of time and a crap load of washes in the tumbler. Now even hand washing leaves the material a little bit on the nasty side. Honestly, with the prices still ridiculously high, the quality has become rather disappointing. A dozen hand washes and my 3/4 pants look washed out and I only had them since April . Where my LJ tracksuit that still looks fresh after five years. It seems something has changed. Cheaper material? Produced in a different country? Who knows. I still love the designs but I’ll be looking elsewhere for future workout gear.
That’s where Lulu Lemon comes in. There’s been a store in the local shopping for like forever, but typical me hadn’t noticed it until someone mentioned the brand at work. Last week I checked it out and the designs are funky, the material feels good, and while the price is a little higher than LJ, I’m definitely keen to try it.
There’s also one little factor that just oozes attractiveness of Lulu Lemon. Every Sunday morning they offer a free hour of yoga in store. Starting an hour before the mall opens, they provide the space, mats and a qualified yoga instructor.
Jarek and I tried the class this morning. And oh my God. It was fantastic.
I was expecting airy fairy type yoga that would involve mostly lying around and some basic stretching. Nope, very little lying around involved beside a few minutes to ground yourself at the beginning and a few more at the end to unwind.
The poses were simple but tough. The instructor loud and clear. The class was totally what I needed after a ninety minute bike session. The yoga classes I’m used to involve an instructor with a soft voice that puts you to sleep. This yoga instructor was more about doing it right or not doing it at all – using a bit of tough love I suppose, and I say that with the highest of praises. She demonstrated clearly, prvovided assistance throughout, and ensured that everyone participating was performing the poses correctly.
Sixty minutes later I felt like lighter, stretched out and ready to take on the rest of the day. I’m so looking forward to going back for more.
